Alex, from Box.net (Box.net is an online file storage and sharing company) contacted me regarding his site Box.net

Normally I don’t blog about commercial services. Numerous people requested me to blog about their site.

The reason I do now is because Box.net delivers a service where you can upload your files. The have a new widget , a Box widget which is a free and easy way to share and collaborate on any website.

The Box Widget displays any kind of file that has been uploaded and makes them available for download, and it also lets users view pictures, movies, and audio right from the widget. By adding other Box accounts to your network, all of your widgets can automatically update themselves to show a new file that has been uploaded.

Several times I checked if there are services like that, we’ve Flickr for photo’s, Youtube for movies, but I have no idea if there are services for file uploading, displaying and sharing.
