Hmmhmm, I’m crawling through a thing called Facebook I think this web app (social network) thing is gone be hotter and hotter.
The last couple of weeks I tried figuring it out, but other priorities (work…) and lack of time decided me to focus on other things. Figuring out Facebook below the 5 min. limit wasn’t possible for me.
But this evening I had some spare time. My girlfriend is calling friends to share the news she is going to Live Earth, she’s in the process of buying a company in the United States, so plenty of time
First thing to figure out is finding friends(and finding the available options in Facebook). Lots of options are available, multiple mail accounts can be crawled, Highschool and University students can be found, or you can simply invite a friend per email.
Second to find out is how the heck I could get some apps in my profile. Once I found out where I could find (more) applications I was surprised by the number of available applications (1264 per the 2th of June 2007!)
First thing I did was trying out the Google reader Shared app. Added it to my profile and configured it.First reaction? Soooo simple to configure, soooooooooo easy to add!
Some of the apps aren’t really apps, it’s more a clickthrough application to the website self. Other apps are fully integrated, there’s no need to go to for example another feed reader, or Twitter.
According to Michael Arrington (TechCrunch) Facebook is:
Not only for developers that get deep access to Facebook’s twenty million users but Facebook also becomes a rich platform for third party applications.
