Unified Communications partners in IP PBX..
so We’ve signed up a fair few IP PBX partners in advance of the next wave of our Unified Communications products due out later this year. We talked about the lineup at Interop this year.
Looking at the list of hardware partners I noticed that you can have a play with the CX100 speakerphone and beta test it for yourself
Well, the OCS 2007 Public Beta was released this week and it appears that downloads have been very strong. If you are interested in downloading the Public Beta, go to http://www.microsoft.com/uc and you can register for it there. For those that are verterans of Live Communications Server, you may be familiar with flat file logging. This was a standard request from Microsoft Support Engineers just about everytime someone opened a case to troubleshoot LCS. Well, with OCS 2007, flat file logging is gone. What!?!?! No logging!?!?! No, that’s not what I said. It is gone and has been replaced with ETL logging. The problem with ETL logging is that it cannot natively be read by humans. Generally speaking, you’d hav eto send the ETL to Microsoft to allow them convert the file and diagnose the problem. Well, let me tell you that the OCS product group (thanks Amay and your team) has done an excellent job of creating a tool that will facilitate getting the logs you want, but also converting them to text files so you can read them. This tool is called OCSLogger.exe and every OCS admin needs to become very familiar with this tool.
I’ve finally got one of these devices to play with.  Here’s the newsfactor story that announced things. James has been calling me from his phone recently and the quality is really good. Julian sounded like he was talking on skype the other day (loads of latency) , but I think it was my device that has the issue. I’ve got the Polycom Cx200 which Mark talks about here…
Response Point and Office Communications Server…which does what?
We have received a few questions here and there about the differences and similarities between Response Point and OCS, so I thought I would highlight a couple useful sources of clarification.
The first is a posting on this topic by Eric Swift, on the Microsoft Unified Communications team blog, which provides the best and most comprehensive answer.
Week 3 of my Journey with OCS and Communicator 2007

Well the experience is just as good as ever - I personally have had a no problems, all the calls I make are of perfect call quality.
